Tinwood Estate - A relaxing stay at a Sussex vineyard
Tinwood Estate is an established vineyard in the South Downs producing over 55,000 bottles of English sparkling wine each year from its 65 acres under vine. The Estate offers an immersive wine experience with daily tours and tastings, a large space for private events and a handful of luxury lodges for overnight stays.
Staying at Tinwood Estate offers the opportunity to visit the beautiful wine lands of Sussex.
Next door to the world famous Goodwood Estate and on the edge of the South Downs National park the Estate is in the perfect position to explore the cathedral city of Chichester and the glorious sandy beaches of the Witterings. Each of the three luxury lodges – created in 2016 - has been individually designed and beautifully appointed enabling vineyard guests to enjoy the far reaching views of the idyllic rural West Sussex countryside.
The lodges offer the perfect place to stay in unparalleled luxury. As well as a two person Jacuzzi bath and walk in shower there’s a private decked terrace with spectacular views across the vines and extra-large king size bed with the finest Egyptian cotton bedding. Tucked behind the lodges is barrel sauna – perfect to help the relaxation process. Topping things off is fully stocked wine fridge and a hamper breakfast delivered to the door in the morning. To enable guests to make the most of the area the Estate provides mountain bikes which can be used to explore the countryside trails at leisure. And once the day is done there can be nothing better than relaxing with a glass of wine in hand and soaking up the amazing views.
A vineyard tour and tasting can also be enjoyed during a stay. Running every day the experience allows guests to discover the history of the vineyard, meet the owners, tour the vines and taste each of the three wines. The Estate grows the three classic sparkling varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier on its gravel soils over chalk, producing three wines – a Brut, a Blanc de Blancs and a Rose.
Tinwood Estate remains a family-led business with the team keen to offer a contemporary, fun and personal wine experience to help guests understand and enjoy English wine. The Estate also prioritises working with nature rather than against it, ensuring that no insecticides are used on the vines. Wildflower meadows, hedgerows and trees also continue to be planted on the Estate to promote biodiversity, and create a beautiful environment for guests.
